We are currently seeking an experienced Food Production Supervisor to join our team and contribute to our commitment to excellence in food manufacturing. This role is ideal for an organized and detail-oriented professional with a minimum of 3 years of experience in food manufacturing. Due to the nature of the work, the position will be full-time and on-site.
Position Summary: Rocket Creations is in search of a hands-on, strategic, and detail-oriented Food Production Supervisor to oversee and support the growth of our manufacturing operations. This role entails managing stock, goods receipting, product quality control, cleaning, and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate should possess the ability to follow directions, checklists, and develop routines while maintaining a logical and efficient approach to organizing inventory. Strict adherence to HACCP quality standards is essential. We value a focused, self-motivated individual who is ready to take initiative and drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Supervision:
- Lead and supervise the production team, providing guidance, training, and support.
- Set production goals, allocate resources effectively, and ensure production targets (quality, output, efficiency, safety) are met or exceeded
- Maintain cleanliness in the factory, including bathrooms and production rooms.
- Diligent paperwork and stockkeeping.
Supply Chain & Inventory Management:
- Manage the physical/logistical elements of the supply chain, from raw materials to the distribution of finished products, with the support of an Administration Officer.
- Monitor, manage, and optimize inventory levels.
- Coordinate with the Administration Officer and Production team for timely replenishment of supplies.
- Possess and maintain a valid forklift license to handle materials and assist in warehouse operations.
- Liaise with the Managing Director for future supply and budgetary planning.
Quality Assurance:
- Ensure compliance with the existing HACCP Food Safety Program, particularly in the handling of dairy goods.
- Implement and manage quality control measures to ensure product consistency and regulatory compliance.
Machinery and Equipment:
- Ensure efficient operation and maintenance of machinery and equipment.
- Develop maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and enhance equipment reliability.
- Conduct on-the-spot repairs or improvements to machinery to improve output or efficiency.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and increased output and efficiency.
- Implement and oversee continuous improvement initiatives across all operations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a relevant field or equivalent.
- Attention to detail, particularly in cleaning, stock counting, and organizing freezers.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities and a proactive mindset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for ice cream production is a must!
NOTE:
- The role is physically demanding, requiring long periods on your feet and the ability to lift and move 25kgs safely.
- The role will include time working on the production line.
- The environment is high-paced when the freezer doors are open, with the support of the management team, including two directors on-site.
