Master Thesis - Development of a fiber coupled vector magnetic field probe based on sensing with the Diamond NV- center (f/m/d) [Austria]


 

Your future responsibilities
  • Development of a fiber coupled diamond NV- center magnetic field probe (supported by the SAL project team).
  • Optical design of the system aided by simulations.
  • Selection of components and assembly of the system in the lab.
  • Lab testing and characterization of the system.
  • Presentation of results at conferences or in peer reviewed papers.
Your profile
  • BSc in Physics, Engineering or related - enrolled master student.
  • Solid knowledge on- and experience with laser physics, photonics, optics and optical design.
  • Knowledge on solid state and semiconductor physics.
  • Basic programming skills (e.g., Python, Matlab).
  • Experience with standard lab instruments (Oscilloscopes, function generators etc.)
  • Experience with electronics is a plus.
  • Enthusiasm for the work in a photonics lab, quantum technologies and photonics.
  • Solid oral and written English skills.

This position is subject to the Collective Agreement for employees in non-university research (Research CA). For this position, we offer a monthly salary of EUR 1.713, paid 14 times a year.
