Your future responsibilities
- Development of a fiber coupled diamond NV- center magnetic field probe (supported by the SAL project team).
- Optical design of the system aided by simulations.
- Selection of components and assembly of the system in the lab.
- Lab testing and characterization of the system.
- Presentation of results at conferences or in peer reviewed papers.
Your profile
- BSc in Physics, Engineering or related - enrolled master student.
- Solid knowledge on- and experience with laser physics, photonics, optics and optical design.
- Knowledge on solid state and semiconductor physics.
- Basic programming skills (e.g., Python, Matlab).
- Experience with standard lab instruments (Oscilloscopes, function generators etc.)
- Experience with electronics is a plus.
- Enthusiasm for the work in a photonics lab, quantum technologies and photonics.
- Solid oral and written English skills.

This position is subject to the Collective Agreement for employees in non-university research (Research CA). For this position, we offer a monthly salary of EUR 1.713, paid 14 times a year.

Silicon Austria Labs (SAL) is a top research center for Electronic Based Systems (EBS).
